"Gator Tree & Lawn Service, LLC" was founded by Kurtis Schurger and his wife Cindy in 2008.   After being in the industry for 20 years, the couple decided it was time to venture out on their own.  Kurtis began the tree industry in Sacramento, California at the age of 18.  Having worked various jobs as a teenager, he fell in love when landing a job at a local tree company.  Starting out as a groundsman, it didn't take long before he knew that he wanted to learn how to climb trees.  25 years later, Kurtis is still climbing trees and making sure that each client's questions regarding all aspects of their trees and shrubs is answered. We also subcontract with other local tree services because of our experience, whether it be from high-risk removals to diagnosing diseases and insect damage.

One of the most important things a homeower can do is PROTECT themselves when seeking tree care services.  How do you do this?  It's easy; DEMAND to see proof of TREE LICENSING and INSURANCE.  If a company cannot provide either of these, BE LEARY.  There's a saying that the "unlicensed tree trimmer you hire today could own your home tomorrow."  As a homeowner, it is your right to ask for these accreditations.  An honest and professional company will always be happy to supply these.  Remember, if a tree falls on your or a neighbor's house, it's too late now to ask for these credentials. If an amateur tree trimmer uses improper pruning techniques, your tree may suffer irreversible effects, and it will be more costly in the end for the consumer.  So please, be pro-active and protect yourself, your neighbors, and your trees. 

Last, we believe in providing oustanding service at a fair price.  However, it is proven knowledge that hiring an amateur tree service may be cheaper, and that is great news to the consumer, right?  WRONG!  Your trees are an important investment that shouldn't be taken lightly and just left in the hands of anyone.  Amateur tree services can very easily damage or kill trees using improper maintenance techniques, including incompetent pruning and trimming methods.  More dangerous tasks such as tree removals, stump-grinding, and Emergency services can quickly become unsafe ventures when incorrect tools and safety procedures are utilized. Therefore, you could be left facing increased costs in the long run.
